Something Soul

A ‘Warren Farmhouse’ Marquee Wedding 🌾🌻🌸

Hey guys, I thought I’d take you back to last spring and tell you a little about one of the first weddings we played at…

Joe and Amy booked us to play for their marquee wedding last May at ‘Warren Farmhouse’, a rustic outdoor venue situated on the edge of the Sherwood Forest and Nottinghamshire countryside.

Warren Farmhouse is the perfect place if you want an outdoor wedding. The owner’s grade II listed property backs onto a paddock where they have a traditional pole tent marquee set up and it really is very pretty. Fields surround the paddock which is great for the view but also means you don’t have to worry about making too much noise or if one of your wedding party goes rogue (there’s always one)! The marquee inside is a haven of rustic charm, twinkly lights & billowing white ceilings – you can see for yourself in the pictures. It’s also a great canvas for anyone wanting to create something totally unique. If you’re not one to fear getting the wellies out and are looking for a boho, outdoor, rustic marquee wedding this really is the place.

Onto the day itself. Amy & Joe booked our ‘combined package’ which involved me playing solo for the drinks reception out on the front lawn and during the wedding breakfast, followed by the duo for the evening reception to get the party going! We loved creating a bespoke package for them and they chose 5 new songs for us to learn (which we offer to couples). A great moment in the day was when we played their first dance song Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ and it was a real tender moment!

Amy wore a beautiful boho flower garland on her head, which was her ‘something blue’ and Joe looked dashing in his 3-piece suit. They kept it simple with the decor inside and chose traditional matted flooring (apart from the dance floor area), round tables with crisp white linens and rustic centrepieces. The afterparty – now I must say sleeping next to your guests on your wedding night might not be for everyone but I think the 4 romantic glamping tents set up outside for Joe & Amy and their closest family & friends were a really fun addition and a great way to continue the celebrations into the early hours.

The day was a huge success and we loved working with the owners, Rebecca & Gareth, who are super friendly and amazing at what they do! Here’s a snap of us all together at the end of a tiring but wonderful day spent at Warren Farmhouse.

Love,

Emily xx
